In advance of our next London dawdle on Saturday April 4, Shimble shares a peculiar new custom invoking the power of the pointed finger, specifically amongst a willing public.

The exploration of such customs takes us into novel union with those around us. All too often, we become islands alone in spite of the companions so close by our side, since conversation only goes so far

So there is a gulf of possibility to be discovered. That realm, and others alike, is such for the customs to be seeking…

Come to the Dawdle and see more the customs to unfold.. https://www.speckle.se/dd

Lyrics

Well you are you’re known to be a something of a static people
It might do you well to move somewhat more
so I’m here to direct suggest a certain range of motion for you to

we begin by looking around the room, looking around the Space
these are the others you see here
well some of you are known to be rather a static people
so will we…
and I say a third of you, roughly a third, raise your hand
if you don’t spontaneously raise then I’ll select
say you and you, you have raised your hand raise your hand and come up to your feet, you can do so

with your fingers: point, with your fingers outwards, point at another, just another

if you see that you’ve been pointed at and you don’t want to be pointed at shake your head say “no”

but if you have been pointed at and the feeling is bearable, the feeling like a prod to your person
if you’re the pointer, prod again, go towards, walk towards someone

and if you’ve been pointed at, come to your feet, feel the prodding, feel the Motion as the pointer prods, involves the other hand, begins to massage at a distance the prodding finger,

and go over, you walk towards, as the pointed moves back, moves away, feels pressed into the background by the pointed finger,

and the others, the bystanders, you may crawl, crawl into the gaps and around, you may roll, you may roll into the gaps and around,
working your way through the ecosystem of the pointers and the pointed

whatever that may lead to, we don’t know
the Pointers keep pointing, massaging their arms to increase the potency of the point, the fingers charged and lunging, like a strange arrow, onwards and over, forward and thrusting, there
